Job Description
Provide technical assistance in the areas of expertise
(Gender, Population and Development) to the countries
of Arab and Europe Regions when requested to develop,
implement, monitor and evaluate their Population
programmes in the gender perspective.
Promote, Advertise and assist in gender-sensitive
planning and devise tools for an integrated approach
to Gender, population and development (GPD) in
programme/formulation and implementation;
Assist national implementing agencies and UNFPA Field
Office in integrating GPD concerns in on-going
UNFPA-funded projects/programmes in the Arab
Countries;
Identify and formulate projects and provide technical
backstopping and follow-up within the Arab countries;
Prepare for and participate in the development of
national programme strategies for GPD and to
participate in PRSD missions;
Identify and mobilize regional/national technical
resources such as NGOs, research, training and
academic institutions in the area of GPD;
Assist other team members to effectively take account
of GPD issues and concerns in their own areas of
responsibility; and
Participate as a resource person in GPD training
programme organized at inter-country and national
levels, including the preparation of needed training
materials. |
